Ok, regarding semester and year, AACOMAS states:

Year: Enter the academic year in which you took each course. The academic year is defined as beginning with the summer session and includes the following fall and spring terms. For example, a course taken during the spring of 1998 should be entered as 1997 because it is part of the 1997-1998 academic school year.

Fine. But when I entered my Spring 03 info, which acccording to AACOMAS you should designate as "Spring 02" since they state that Spring 03 is included under academic year 02-03, it shows up before summer, instead of after fall. That makes it look like I took the Spring 03 classes first, then summer, then fall. This is not chronological. Should I enter Spring 03 as Spring 03???

(summer-->fall-->spring) supposed to look like
(spring-->summer-->fall) this is what it looks like

AACOMAS:Bad

Spring 02 (actually taken from Jan-May of 03, so should show up after Fall)
Summer 02 (OK!!)
Fall 02 (Aug-Dec, OK!!)

What am I misunderstanding here?

That's the way to go. Indicate the same year that you took the course.

Jan - May 2002 = Spring 2002
Summer 2002 = Summer 2002
Aug - Dec 2002 = Fall 2002

When I filled out my app for the 2006 cycle, I just entered courses as it was stated to do so on the AACOMAS app. The same thing happened to me when I entered my summer courses. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Obviously, everyone who took summer courses will have this issue, and I'd say the best thing to do is to just stay consistent and follow the directions as stated. If there is ever a question about it, the school will ask you during your interview and you can explain. I went on 3 interviews and the issue never came up. Hope that helps! Good luck you guys!!!! :luck: :luck:

Oh, and I even did take Gen Chem II before Gen Chem I (long story) and it's evident when you look at the dates, and was never questioned about that.

But according to AACOMAS, Jan-May 2002-Spring 2002 should actually be included under the 2001 school year: Summer 01, Fall 01, Spring 01(acutally is Spring of 02 though!!)

I am going to call them (a novel idea!) tomorrow, and will post their arcane response!!😀

I called the other day about htis. As weird as it seems this is what they say is correct
Spring of 2002 is listed as Spring of 2001, because that is what school year it belongs in. Go figure!
