I am applying to hopefully start medical school by Fall 2017, and I want to make sure that I apply extremely early.

The AACOMAS website says that applications will open May 4, 2016, but doesn't say when they can be submitted. Does this mean it can be submitted a month later, making June 4 2016 the earliest day to submit it?

Another thing, if I retake the MCAT after my AACOMAS is reviewed, does this mean there is no chance that medical schools will see the retake grade?

Thanks

Schools can see your new MCAT score because you can release the new score from AAMC to AACOMAS and update your app.

Yes, you can start filling out your application starting in May, but application data won't be transmitted to schools until June 21st, which means you can submit by first week of June and still be the first to be verified before schools will receive your app.

In other words, you can submit your primary by the first week of June and be no later than if you submitted in May.

And yes, you can update your application when new MCAT score comes in but there's no guarantee that schools will automatically review your application with the new score. You may have to call each individual school to make sure.

If I were you, I would just submit to a throwaway school like Liberty just to start the verification process and then update your application to other schools and submit after you've gotten your new MCAT score back.

Could you please tell me where you saw June 21st? Is that just from last year?

Yeah. I don't think it'll change this cycle. I don't remember the exact date but it was sometime in the mid-last week of June when schools started receiving application data.
