AACOMAS so much better than AMCAS

I don't mean to imply any relation to the DO/ MD debate in general, but the AACOMAS website seems so much more user friendly than AMCAS! Also, they've already verified my application and it is supposed to arrive at schools the 3rd week of June.

AMCAS, on the other hand, seems like a cranky old dinosaur lumbering around. The interface feels clunky, their messages have the tone of "don't call us, we'll call you," and the verification process takes an age.

Is it just me? Anyone else feel that way?

Right, AMCAS is a lot more difficult to use than AACOMAS. Also I'm surprised people are being verified this early tbh. I got verified myself today.

Not just you. I really liked aacomas more.

I also loved the way it gave me a calculated GPA, with breakdowns, that stayed current with each course I input. Very nice.

Only thing I don't like is you can't use more than 700 characters for your more meaningful activities

That's true. Would be nice to just paste in the activities from AMCAS without having to edit them all down. And have longer space for the meaningful ones.

I feel the same way! It seems a bit more simple and user friendly and I love that their transcript request service is straightforward as well.

For all the talk about this grade replacement, I didn't see it on my application. My AAMC and aacomas GPAs were identical and I retook Calc which should've replaced a D with an A

Did you indicate that it was a retake? There's a certain code you're supposed to put in I believe, so that AACOMAS knows it's a retake.
