OKay, I sent in my transcripts over a month ago. Still they didn't load up. Then a month ago, I called to make sure they arrived - and they were like "oh yes! they did". Today I was wondering why my app has not been processed yet.

They didn't load up my transcripts!! 😡 He was like "oh we do have them, but we never put it into the computer. they will go out in the next batch of apps next week."

AHHHHH, they already could have been out weeks ago 😡 !!!

Sorry, I had to vent. I put in so much time for these, is it too much to ask to keep my file updated there???

Is it too late? I sent it in weeks ago, and after all this - it is JUST going out! Is this okay??? I am freakin' out! 🙁

I am sorry, I know I am not late in the process, but jeeze I just HAD to vent. MD might not be working in my direction with my numbers, so I want my DO app to be early and shine. Ugh, anyway thanks ya'll for letting be vent! 😳

I would call them everyday. Usually they will start working on yours since they already went through the trouble of pulling it out, I think. Also note that they are slow to update your file on the status page but in actuality they are working on you files.

I've got the feeling from calling the office that they are generally less organized than the people at AMCAS. More than once I've called about transcripts and received a response like "um....(sigh)....I dunno.......(sigh)....if you want me to I can go look......." Yes, I want you to look, or I wouldn't be calling. 😉

Which brings me to another point. We pay hundreds of dollars to AACOMAS and AMCAS to essentially forward an application to a school for us using an automated system. Cost to electronically transmit an application? I'm guessing much less than a dollar. Cost to have someone spend an hour or two verifying our transcripts? $60 at the most. So why am I paying this organization $500-$1000 for $100 worth of services?

Now, here's the kicker. They claim to be a "centralized application service", and that we are paying for convenience. If that is truly the case, then why do I get secondary applications from almost every school I apply to on which I have to regurgitate almost all the information in my primary application? Not only that, but schools obviously don't even review the AMCAS and AACOMAS before they ask you to file secondaries. If that all weren't enough, we STILL have to pay an additional $30-$100 PER SCHOOL for this second round of nonsense?

I am sure I am not the first to rant on this, nor will I be the last.

It is a complete and total racket that hinders the middle income or working-stiff applicant. [sarcasm]But hey, as long as we maintain a class based society...[/sarcasm]
