AACOMAS Transcript Questions

Hello all, few questions regarding transcripts:

1) I am currently in my senior year. Do I have to wait till spring semester grades are posted to send my university transcript?

2)All of the ordering for transcripts is done online for both my university and other community colleges I took classes at. I am concerned that I will not be able to include my AACOMAS ID with the transcripts because of this. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Also, if the AACOMAS ID is not sent with the transcripts and just my transcripts show up with my name, will AACOMAS not process them?

3) Due to the above problem, might it be a better idea to have all transcripts mailed to Interfolio, and then request Interfolio to send transcripts with my AACOMAS ID? Is this even possible?

I plan on calling AACOMAS in the next few days to ask, but thought I'd check here first. Thank you! 🙂

1) No, but you will need to send them again after you get your spring grades so it the school charges it will be more expensive.

2) One of my schools did it like this as it was a large public university so I called and asked about it and they said "fax or bring the ID and we will send them out with it as we have done it thousands of times." It was way easy as they put it with and sent, however I have read about multiple stories on here that people send transcripts without the AACOMAS ID sheet and they didn't have any problems.

Everything Stok said is right. I'll just add some commentary:

1. If I were you, I'd wait till your school updates your transcript with the Spring grades before you send it. It depends on when your Spring semester ends... but it should be done by the first week in June, latest... correct? If so, wait till the transcript is updated, then send it to AACOMAS. It'll take a couple days to receive and process, but as soon as you get the green checkmark next to "Transcript" on the application, submit! Until then, have everything else ready.

2. My university had their own transcript request form that students had to fill out. AACOMAS provides a transcript request form (that already has your AACOMAS ID info, name, etc. on it). It's also used as a cover page for your transcript. I believe it only shows up once you start filling the "Coursework" part of the application. Once it does, print it out and fax it to your school. Be sure to call them and let them know it's coming, so they are aware it's different than the regular form your school may use. But as Stok mentioned, people have ignored the AACOMAS transcript request form and they still received it perfectly fine. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

3. No, AACOMAS requires the transcript to be sent directly from the registrar's office of your schools. No biggy though... what I would do is send each university the AACOMAS transcript request form... then call them to make sure they are aware of it, and to make sure they mail the request form WITH the transcript (since it's like a cover page and has your AACOMAS info on it). Then just stay on top of each school and make sure they've sent it.
