AACOMAS vs AADSAS Scale

Hey all,

I'm a Canadian that is considering applying to dental school this cycle considering I get rejected from the DO schools I have applied to.

Just wondering, will my calculated gpa be the same for AADSAS as it is on my AACOMAS application? Trying to figure out my competitiveness beforehand.

it might be different if you used grade replacement on AACOMAS, if not then it should be pretty similar
A+'s are 4.33 not 4.0 also on AADSAS

Yeah, no grade replacement. The A+ being a 4.333 might pull my gpa a little, nothing too significant.

Anyways, will be taking the DAT this summer and we'll see what happens... are ECs considered a big part in dentistry in the USA? Here in Canada not much weight is given to them.. Besides some school volunteering, Women's organization volunteering, I really don't have much more. I do have a lot of work experience (construction and retail).

Yeah both gpa calculation systems will virtually be the same since AACOMAS just got rid of their grade replacement policy. They're implementing the new policy for the upcoming cycle.

Alright thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Only thing I'm worried about is the amount of debt I'll incur in the US. But dentists get paid well in Ontario so I'm not too worried. Plus, I got a great entrepreneurial mind, so I'm looking forward to it. Ultimate goal for me is to manage 5-10 practices business wise.
