Has anyone noticed how AACOMAS is such a cheap facsimile of the AMCAS application? No offense to any AACOMAS lovers but I believe that this is true.

Who cares? AACOMAS is easier to fill out.

Plus, AACOMAS was on-line before AMCAS was.

amcas took me over a month to complete (it was the first year they had it on line and they failed to be properly prepared--the server constantly crashed.... if you were lucky to even get on....so you had to write 2 to 3 lines, save, exit, and re-sign in....when it came to sending it in and paying for it...the stupid thing would time-out so you were left with no idea if it went through or not!!)

AACOMAS was simple, direct, and took me about 4 hours to complete. If that makes it "cheap" I'll take it!!!!
I think amcas could have learned a great deal from aacomas!!

Honestly, how much variation can there possibly be on these applications?

Oh my gosh wasn't that first year a NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!😡 😡

I had to start a lawsuit to get my application processed, spent $45 in phone bills dealing with them and took over 96 hours to complete my application. What a mess it was!!!!!!

AACOMAS - what can I say about it? I sent in my transcripts, filled everything out...and guess what? They were complete in a really timely manner. I have made changes to it via email and those people have changed it within a week. Excellent service and reliability.

AMCAS - this service sucks. They need to hire new web designers. Maybe it's because they have so many people applying there, but I've sent in transcripts from 2 schools TWICE. It takes them 2 weeks to do anything. I'm only applying to 2 allopathic schools but still, give me a break. The last transcript I'm trying to get them to find has only one PASS/NO PASS class on it. How lame is that? And then it takes them 4-6 weeks to verify. The people at AMCAS might be doing their job - it might be the USPS...who knows? All I know is my experience with AMCAS has been anything less than what I'd expect from such a service for a professional school...I've heard plenty of complaints with it from other people too.

AACOMAS has a cheap look, and yeah, I'll admit it's kind of cheesy - but hey, it got the job done.
