Hey guys, I e-submitted 2 weeks ago and I've just decided to matriculate into a graduate program. It's too late to update my app! Is this going to adversely affect my chances given the fact that my scores in the program will be crucial? I know there is an Academic Update window. But is not having it in my application now bad? Should I email my schools? THANKS.

Yes, it is too late to update your application until the academic update period in November. It is not going to adversely affect your chances because by the time you receive your Fall grades, you will be able to update it with the Academic Update anyways. I've talked to a few schools and they said they want to see your Fall grades before they make a decision, some actually say a full year's worth is better. Also, by the time you reach academic update period, it is late in the cycle and chances are slim.

I had to decide if I wanted to apply before I started the program like you, or wait until I finish the program and then apply. I decided to finish the program and then apply to save money and have a better chance.

You should email schools to let them know you are doing a graduate program and maybe they will note it in your file.
