So I was checking out a friends AADSAS appl. and they had a whole portion just for research. Now, I have a decent resume going for me but after looking at the thing I began wondering how important is it to show that you did dental or any research at all or even manual dexterity (sp?) in your life. It would be great to hear your imputs because the concept is snowballing in my head and well, does it really matter?! gracias

I left the research section completely blank. Research is a bonus, but its not required. Generally, you're ok without research assuming the rest of your application looks good. But it can definitely help, so if you have the opportunity to do some before you apply, certainly go for it.

Some schools (like UCLA) are big on research experience while others aren't. It definitely isn't a must but its always better to be safe than sorry.

Grades and DATs are just a foot in the door, its all the extra stuff that gets you in.
