AADSAS application submitted..but then now- what should I do?

I submitted my application yesterday.
SHould I now send in all those supplementary application & fees right away?
I know AADSAS would take about 4weeks to go over my coursework, so...I was going to wait until mid july.
Or, is it wise to send in all the application fees & application now?

Also,...ummmm..
do I just send money order in the envelope? or should I attach any other forms along the check & photo??

One more thing...
Some schools mention that I need to send my official transcript to their schools.. However, I already sent mine to AADSAS!.. SHould I send another copy to each school? or is the one I sent to AADSAS will be sufficient?

I would just send in supplementary materials and fees right away. I e-submitted my app today and I've been writing checks all afternoon...it's burning a hole in my pocket...!

you know how we sent AADSAS a transcript matching form...
is there a similar form when we send schools the stuff they're requesting?
like....do we just send them a check and they'll create a file?

Most schools will want you to cut them a check right away. Some web sites will specifically say what they want you to include with the check. I.e. name and AADSAS # on the check or on attached sheet of paper.

Some schools want supplementals downloaded and sent in now as well (Penn, UNLV). Other schools won't send or give you a link to the supplemental until they receive your app from AADSAS (UCLA, Arizona).

huh? i recall someone had called them earlier and they had said that the grades from aadsas were all they needed, since Columbia says:


Official transcripts for all academic coursework. Candidates should contact all former academic institution(s) to obtain official copies of academic records, which must be sent directly to AADSAS application service.


I was under the impression that we did not need to send them additional transcripts...does anyone have any more info on this?

I just spent over $1000 on AADSAS fees for my school designations. On top of that, we are expected to pay for our DAT scores to be sent out to each individual school. If the supplemental materials requires we cut ANOTHER check to these schools for an application fee then why do we pay AADSAS so much for our school designations?!?! I'm confused

Well it turns out you are correct. The lady I talked to for a while insisted on me sending additional transcripts to the school. I guess this is why we are all here working together to figure out this puzzle of applying to D-school.

I just spoke with Columbia admissions person and she said that transcripts should be sent either directly to Columbia or to AADSAS. But they prefer AADSAS. They told me the same thing when I talked to NYU person. They only want transcripts directly to them when you're admitted. Stony Brook wants the transcripts on top of AADSAS.

I guess if they change their minds and want the transcripts afterall, they would let us know.

I don’t know why. I’m guessing they don’t want to print out thousands in order to mail stuff out to all the applicants. They will just open your file and grab one to stick on the envelope they send you.

I am assuming they want them printed on mailing labels: The ones that are like stickers.

It lists them on the web page, but says nothing more.

You can use a program like MS Word to format everything in seconds.

Oh yeah... print the address that you will be using throughout the app process. When they need to send you something, they'll take one and stick it on the envelope. Hopefully it will be that big envelope with a nice acceptance letter inside.

Wait...I'm still thoroughly confused.
The schools want DAT scores, Transcripts and LOEs SEPARATE from AADSAS? Or will they be getting it through AADSAS? So then we just send them other things like photos, mailing label, and check?

Heres how it works.

AADSAS takes care of GPA verification and sending your letters of rec along with your application. However, a few schools such as UCSF and i'm sure some others want an official transcript sent from your college the AADSAS one doesn't count. Call the schools your applying to and find out for sure, most will accept the AADSAS verification. The DAT scores are sent through the ADA and are not verified by AADSAS. Just another way for them to make money.

As far as the secondary's go. I wouldn't bother sending anything in until your application has been sent out by AADSAS. If you check your AADSAS account under designated schools, it will say when they have been sent out. Right now mine is blank so it has not been sent out. Check the schools website because some want secondaries right when they get your application and some you don't need to send in until they contact you by mail or email.

Also, after the AADSAS application has been sent out it is a good idea to call the schools you're applying and check to make sure they have your completed app. Sometimes letters of rec get lost or what not.

I'm leaving the country in 2 days and I just wanted to get everything sorted away quickly.

I figure that's just more efficient than calling each individual school to ask what exactly they want from us, and what they get from AADSAS.

I wouldn't if I was in your situation..

My school charges $10 per transcript.. and that adds up to be alot of money.

I know for sure Columbia needs an official one, and I found out UoP doesn't need one.
