For those that applied this past cycle, and are on waiting lists do we have to call the schools to know the status of the application now that AADSAS is closed?

He is talking about the cycle that just closed, "this past cycle". The AADSAS application closes May 1st. The next cycle does open on the 1st of June.

I always thought that once you applied, the application closed the following January.

I believe if you start a new one in June you can see your old stuff.

Also for those interested in statuses you can still check via mobile. I actually had a status change this morning on there.
