Hey everyone,
Firstly, congrats to everyone who has received invites so far and good luck to rest!
Secondly, apologies for the long story ahead. I applied to 15 schools and my app went out in second batch. I completed all the secondary apps as requested and received confirmations from nearly all schools in June and early/mid July. I haven't heard back about any interviews yet so I've been patiently waiting but just this week, I have had 3 schools email me to say one of my LORs wasn't populating well. I contacted the schools to see what the problem was and it turns out there's a technical issue with how it appears on AADSAS so my prof will be re-submitting. The schools also asked that my evaluator email them with the letter immediately to expedite the process. I got worried that this might be affecting other schools so I've been going down the list and calling each school to see if my app looks okay or if they're having the same error. (That way if they are, I can tackle the issue sooner).
Luckily, MWU-AZ is not. However, while I was on the phone with the admissions officer, she said, "nope, everything looks clear and there's no issues with your app. it looks like you're on waitlist for an interview." I asked whether this means my application is on hold. She said, "no I don't believe it's a hold." I didn't press it any further because I know it's discouraged to ask about the status of your application by phone/email.
I'm wondering what this really means. I know some of you will comment and say "it means exactly what she told you." I'm just looking to determine if anyone in the past has been told the same and has been extended an invite before December 1st, or whether this is a waitlist for post-Dec invites. Some applicants in the past have said they didn't hear back from MWU-AZ at all so I'm concerned and wondering if my app has been placed in a limbo pile too (no rejection, no invite, no acceptance... just an application). Ultimately I'll have to be patient but I'd also like to know from previous experience whether this is a positive or if it typically ends in bad news/no news. Any insight about this would be super helpful!
Sorry for the long-winded post. Just wanted to make sure my situation was clear. I also ramble when I'm worried.
