Hi, my GPA was just posted today on AADSAS. I send in my application on the 21st of May, by the way, and my transcript arrived the same time, but it was only posted as received less than a week ago. There is a BCP GPA, a Sciences GPA and a non-science GPA. Each GPA is calculated with plus/minus differences and without. My question is, which GPA do dental schools weigh most heavily? Also, what are quality points and hours? My BCP jumped 0.1 without plus/minus, and my overall by 0.8. Is this normal? Which is the most important? Thanks

I believe those refer to your units x grade points (ex. 4 units x 3.7 for an A-; this is done for all your classes) and units, respectively.

On a side note, my gpa w/ and w/o quality points only differ by 0.02. a tenth seems a little high in my opinion. But I don't think it should hurt you at all.

Go to the "Status" tab and select "Transcripts". 🙂

They posted my transcripts as received on about the 30th of May, and my GPA was calculated yesterday (June 7). So which GPA is the more important one aka which GPA are you guys posting as your GPA at the bottom of your posts? Cum/sci or Cum/BCP with or without plus/minus? Thanks

Different schools give different preference to different GPAs. It seems most people on SDN feel that most schools look at Sci gpa over BCP. I know at least two schools that look at BCP over Science.

OHSU and someone else here posted that Columbia said this during an interview. I haven't asked columbia about it directly.

What if you got a degree at a school with the quarter system, and then took post-bac classes at a school with the semester system? Will AADSAS be able to pick that up just from looking at the transcripts you send? Please say yes! Or do I have to send them a letter...🙂 And will they factor in my comunity college class grades (better, or course). Please say yes!
