Ok, so I'm reading about how the ADEA calculates our gpa's. They take into account whether or not you got a +/- letter grade in their calculations.

Thing is, my school doesn't give out +/- ... just As and Bs and Cs regardless of your actual grade.

Will ADEA recieve my actual percentage grade on my transcript and re-calculate my GPA their way?

😕

No, ADEA will only receive what's on the transcript. If there's no plus/minus then it won't be recalculated with +/-s because transcripts don't show percentages.

My school did +/-, but didn't give out A+'s. None of my As were recalculated to A+, so I assume for a school that doesn't do +/- you wouldn't have a +/- GPA listed.

Dental schools look at both with +/- and without +/- GPAs, so everyone is put on a level playing field.

That kind of sucks that my school doesn't do +/- , my gpa would be much higher if they did. Grrr

I actually don't know if I like the +/- system. I hate when I get a 92% on a class and is still an A- which is a 3.67 for that class. For some schools this would be a 4.0. But if you get a 97% or 98% you get an A+, which is 4.33 I believe. Anything in between (93%-96.9%) is an A and 4.0.

It would have worked out well for me because the one C i got was actually a C+, one of the 2 B's was a B+, 3 A+ es! That would tooootally change my gpa!
