I am working on my AADSAS and I had a question concerning the upper and lower divison classes. Does AADSAS give different gpas for each level. In my case, this would be a huge advantage. I was just curious, I though maybe since the entire app is different as comapred to last year, perhaps they may calculate gpas different. I hope so, this will show my current trend in grades much betetr

I don't think they give special exceptions to upper level. I think its to help differentiate the upper level and lower level for adcoms looking at your records. I think they want to know how well you do in each and also to compare and see if you continued to get good grades even in the more difficult upper level courses.

I wish it would give a diff gpa. i think my upper level would be like a 3.5 compared to like a lower level of like a 2.5, so, whern they are combined, i dotn stand out, due to a 3.0 cum. If the higher level stand alone, i think it will greatly increase my chances of getting in

Well I am pretty sure that they would think "oh he got a C in organisms but an A in Molecular Biology". Not sure but I think they must look at it that way. I mean why wouldn't they take into consideration that you did well in more difficult classes compared to lower level. You could also try to incorporate that into your statement as well.

Holy crap that would be awesome if they did that. My Upper Division gpa is a 3.94. That looks alot better than my 3.4 overall.

Don't get your hopes up. They wont.

But many take into consideration an improvement in grades. They just don't calculate your gpa differently.
