So this year AADSAS, clearly says that they will not count any courses psychology as biology... even if it is neuroscience.. At my school, neuro, biological basis, and health are offered through psyc department and they are cross listed meaning that if you take these courses, they count as credits for bio courses. This totally sucks because last year my GPA was good, this year it might drop drastically because of this.

what do I do????

Well if you took the time to actually read the AADSAS book again, you would've saved both of us some time in 1. you writing this and 2. me reading and replying to this. What a shame...

just curious.. is that true? neuro classes don't count as science anymore? what? 😕

Too many changes for me. First Pluto isn't a planet and now neuroscience isn't a science! So much for my BS (bachelors of science) in neuroscience. 😀

Actually, I think the OP might be referring to classes through the psychology department such as bio-psych or physiological psychology. Last year these could even be counted in BCP, but when I went back to find that stipulation this year, it was gone.

Take a peak at the original post again:

This change definitely would have dropped my science GPA a bit.

Isn't that funny? I don't even receive a B.S for my Biology degree, that is reserved for NURSES only.. I get a B.A!!! Crazy! I didn't realize Biology was an art and not a science.

Look on the bright side... you can tell d-schools that you now have 4 years of art background. That should do wonders for proving your manual dexterity abilities.

Um...now I see Psychology is listed under Non-science. So I see what everyone is saying.

I can't believe this new change! What a bummer 🙁

americanpierg,

Previously, courses with a strong emphasis in biology, even though they might be listed as "psychology" counted towards your BCP. Also, I am sorry that you have nothing better to do than to reply with rude comments that offer absolutely no help to the thread... What a shame 🙂
