I just received my AADSAS GPA recalculation, and it's much higher than the GPA that is reported on my transcript. What is going on? I read some other threads about the "crazy AADSAS GPA recalculations" but it was usually lower than the GPA on the transcript. What do dental schools look at, the AADSAS gpa or the transcript gpa?

That's awesome! Why do you think it's so much higher, though? Does your school give A+ grades? That can really work in some peoples' favor. 🙂

Yes- I had two. Does aadsas also do just a letter grade? I can't imagine 2 A+'s would bring my gpa up THAT much.

I think that an A+ counts for a 4.33, so it can actually make a big difference! They go by the letter grades on your transcript (including +/- for one GPA, but not for the other).

Blessing really 😛 Seems like luck is on your side this cycle already!

How much higher? It may behoove you to try to figure out how it was calculated, and where the discrepancy is, if a school ever wanted some sort of GPA audit. I don't know if this would ever happen, but just to cover your tracks.

It went up .07 from my university reported GPA. I'll look into that, thank you

Oh, I wouldn't worry much about a .07 - It's probably the 2 A+'s. Based on your reaction, I figured your GPA increased several tenths. I'd still be ecstatic with a .07 increase, though!
🙂

so which gpa does dental schools actually look at?

GPA with +/- or without +/-?
