Aadsas gpa

They calculate tons of GPAs, one accounting for +/-, and one without the +/-.
On the +/- scale:
A+ = 4.333
A = 4
A- = 3.667
B+ = 3.333
B = 3
etc
On the one without +/- scale,
A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
F = 0
Then they separate it for Overall, Science and BCP. That's all you can see from your AADSAS app.
For the schools, they break it down even further for Bio GPA, Chem GPA and Physics GPA.

For the one w/o +/- scale, how is a B+ treated? Down to a B or up to the A?

If they rounded B+ to an A, they must also round A- to a B.
are you sure they still calculated one without the +/- ? I seen a poster say that they dont use that method anymore and he claimed that he called aadsas to verify.

Maybe that was an old thread. On my AADSAS GPA calculations page, there is an entire column devoted to w/o +/-. At one of my interviews, my interviewer stated my GPA and when I came back and checked it was the w/o +/- GPA. So, it's there and it's used by some schools.

+1 to this. AADSAS has a column with +/- and one without.
However, if you do the TMDSAS application for Texas schools, they don't use +/- so it's just straight letter grades.
Do dental schools take it into account if your undergrad university doesn't use the same scale? For example my university doesn't use minus grades (A=4.0, B+=3.5, B=3, C+=2.5, etc.) and I have quite a few B+'s which is making my GPA look lower than it should when they calculate it, especially the without +/- GPA.

They don't care what scale your school uses.
They will use their own scale.

does anybody kno, for a fact, which dental schools dont use +/- in gpa calc ???

I don't think anyone can say for sure. My GPA or DAT was never brought up once at interviews. The fact is though, they can look at one or the other. AADSAS provides both to them.

just wondering to see if maybe anyone actually had this brought up by the school they were interviewing at and maybe would know
wow I kinda thinks the w/o +/- scale is kind of unfair IMO. 😛
A- and A = 4?
B+, B, and B- = 3? Is this right?
Not every school even gives out A+ (My school sure doesn't)!! Ohh wells. 😴
But on the w/o +/- scale, an A+ is an A=4, so in terms of the w/o +/- GPA it really doesn't matter if your school doesn't give out the A+.
