So, I know you are allowed to include 3 items from each subsection within the "professional experience" section of AADSAS, but is this necessary/should I do it? I saw older threads about this, but the links of sample coversheets were all dead. Anyone have anything recent that might explain the "coversheet" a bit?

Thanks and good luck to all!

Cover sheet is like a summary sheet of your application, I'm assuming its what they look at first to see if they want to quickly offer you an interview, reject you, or look into your ap further.

You should do it. It lets ADCOMs see you as a person rather than just a bunch of numbers. The coversheet acts as a "snapshot" of the applicant and includes their GPA, DAT, and selected items from each subsection. This is the first thing that admission officers see, so they can easily skim through it to get a feel for the applicant.

The benefit of this system is that it means that even if your numbers aren't exactly what a school is looking for, numbers alone won't get your application thrown away.

...but what if you wouldn't exactly mind being assessed by your numbers...

The school where I attend also had a Medical School and my adviser is the head of the medical school admissions committee. She told me that they have turned down 4.0 students with MCAT off the charts because their socialization was bad. They would rather have average academic than someone with no ability to relate with average people, i.e. patients.

Food for thought for those interviews you get with your awesome numbers.

Make sure to add to your cover sheet. At multiple interviews last year they looked over my cover sheet in front of me and started asking questions based on the cover sheet.

You will look much more well rounded with a cover sheet containing your activities.

any idea on what the item limit is for the cover sheet?

i have stuff for everything except research and thought i'd add up to two items from each section to the sheet.

i think you can only add a total of 3 items to your cover sheet

"The ADEA AADSAS Application Coversheet, also known as the Holistic Coversheet, summarizes some of the items found on the full application PDF. It is a one-page document that appears at the beginning of the PDF application and is automatically generated after the application is submitted. Items on the coversheet include applicant identifying information, GPA calculations for each course subject designation, U.S. DAT and Canadian DAT scores, undergraduate and graduate degree information for schools that were selected as the primary degree-granting institutions and up to three preselected professional experiences per category."
