Hey guys!

First post here...but this is just to warn some of you that AADSAS is already slow! I sent my transcripts to them on May 16th and they only received them May 27th, and I sent two copies of each! So even though I e-submitted my appln May 20th...they can only begin the processing a week later! So get it all in early cause they must be busy busy already so early in the cycle!

Probably because people have been hearing "apply early" way too much!

I'm pretty sure it explicitly says on the AADSAS app that it could take up to 10 days after they receive your transcripts to update your application status, so they're still definitely well within their quoted processing time...

i sent 4 transcripts on 15th, they only got 2 of them. 🙁

It's not even June yet. Relax man. Jeez some people need to chill. Give it some time this is another reason why you start early to allow for delays.

I need advice. My home institution has to process transcripts and has a waiting period of about 2-3 more weeks. I want to apply by approximately June 1st but supposedly all transcripts need to be in before you can e-submit your dental app. What should I do? Should I just complete everything else and then wait until AADSAS has received the transcript? or Just e-submit the app and allow them to process and receive it? I just want to be part of the early applicant pool to make sure that my chances of getting in are higher.

Exactly... these examples of AADSAS being slow aren't new to this cycle. It happens year after year which is the reason you are told to apply early. You guys are still ahead of the game! But DO keep an eye on things. I had AADSAS lose a transcript for a few weeks before magically finding it after one of my multiple phone calls to them.

Complete your part and submit it. Let the school take care of the transcript.
Even if you get the transcripts in by mid june you will be part of the early crowd.

Not true! Your best bet is to request transcripts now, and e-submit now (or as soon as it is fully filled out).

This way your app will be sitting at AADSAS ready to be double checked whenever your transcripts roll in.

Aadsas is slow just as the sky is blue. Since there is obviously a high volume of applications already, it will take them some time. As we move into the fall, they will even be slower. All you can really do is be patient and check up on them.

I sumitted my application on May 16th, transcript recieved on May 21st
I got the email yesterday to correct my course completed section (since I didn't divide terms (Term 1 and Term 2).
so I made corrections yesterday and resumitted.

I just checked my application today
and found out that they verified my mark! YAY!

Seems they work really hard and FAST! 😉

I'm going to send my LOR today (3 of them and one would be electronic)
Do they start sending my application to each dental school in June 1st?

You are definately the exception. Took them about a good month to finish verifying mine last yr. Maybe they're actually working this yr.

June 1st should be about right. But if I remember correctly, it was pushed back to later that week last yr.

I sent my transcripts May 15th they got them May 16th, verified by the 20th. LOR's took a bit longer, but apparently they already sent those. Surprised me.

you are applying to soooooooooo many schools!

haha...

thats the beauty of having a job. Got money to spend, apply extra few more schools and increase my chances.

I actually dont think aadsas is slow. My schools are slow. They just sent my transcripts on 23rd. I am from CA so its gonna take at least 5-10 business days to get to AADSAS. O well.

What?!? I sent my transcripts the 16th and they STILL are not counted as received. What gives? I'm wondering if they're lost then...

why are you guys sending 2 to 4 transcript???

why are you guys sending 2 to 4 transcript???

Many of us have attended more than one school, and need to send in a transcript from each. I had to send in 5 last year:

1. CC I took classes at during HS
2. Undergrad institution
3. CC I took classes at during undergrad
4. University I spent a summer at
5. Grad school

I would have loved to only send and spend money on one transcript. It added up over the cycle, because there were a few schools that wanted all 5 transcripts later in the application process and I had to pay for each one.

Don't worry. It's probably still on its way. I would start worrying if they still haven't received it in another week.

haha okay 🙂 I just find it odd because they totally got 2 letters of recommendation (which were sent AFTER the transcripts). Funny how I was stressed about letters getting there (since professors are so busy ALWAYS) when it is transcripts that might cause a problem! 😉

Got all my LoRs in today. My career center sent it out 2 days ago. That's super fast for CA school. But they still have not received my transcripts. (requested may 15th and sent out a week ago)
