If AADSAS doesn't open up til June 1st and people are saying they're submitting it on June 1st, do you just fill out the entire application in one day? Also, what is the average number of schools applicants normally apply to? Thanks for your help.

The easiest thing to do is just make a Microsoft Word document before hand with all of your EC's/Volunteer/Community Service Experience (10 entries), Dental Experience (5 entries), Awards/Honors/Scholarships (5 entries), and research experience. Also, make sure you have your transcripts on-hand as well. You will need to put every single course and grade into the application. The only thing you really don't need to prepare before you fill out the application is your demographic info; that only takes a few minutes.

Once AADSAS opens all you have to do is copy and paste your already created folders/personal statement, etc., into the application. Remember you only have around 150 characters to explain your experiences.

When I applied last year my Pre-Health advisor said that the average was roughly 6-8 schools I believe. Goodluck applying.

While you can very easily fill out the application in one day, you can't submit it until your transcripts are verified, and that can take up to a month.

Yeah, I think the average is something like 6-10, but if your stats are lower apply to more, I applied late so I wanted to get as many schools as possible, go go 23 schools!

U can't submit until transcripts are verified?! This sounds weird...I thought it was that after u submit you get some sort of matching form and then u send that + transcripts to the AADSAS address. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You submit your application, send in the matching form, then AADSAS verifies transcripts. You have to submit your app before you send your transcripts, otherwise they wouldn't know which application the transcripts belong to. However, the determining factor is how fast you get your transcripts in. You can submit on June 1, but you application will not be complete until transcripts are varified.

So send transcripts a week or so before June 1st?

Thats what I plan to do. My school takes about 2 weeks without paying extra $. So I am going to tell my school to submit them around May 17-18.

You do need to create the application and print out the transcript matching form in order to submit your transcripts with the form. Otherwise, AADSAS will not be able to match transcripts to your application and they will just dump your transcripts.
So:

1) June 1st create an account on AADSAS
2) Print out matching forms, fill them out, take them to colleges you attended and tell the registrar to send the transcripts with the form.

Does anyone know if I have to get a transcript in this situation? I took English 1 and 2 through UT-Martin in a dual credit class in high school. The transfer credits show up at my current institution. I'm just not sure how to get a transcript from UT-Martin, let alone whether they have me on file somewhere! Thanks~

If the class is on your current universities transcripts, I'm fairly certain you only need to send that one in. For example, people at my school study abroad in London and take Physics every summer, and although it is technically through the other school in London, it's on their UCI transcripts, so they just need to send the UCI ones in.

How about DAT scores? Should I send them to schools now or wait until June 1st?

Whats the best way to get your LOR? Do you ask your professors a week in advance to write your letter, and once your application is filled out mail them a form June 1st so they can get it out asap??

so how do sending DAT scores work??

I took my DAT last year and I might have to re-apply...

Do I have to pay $25 per school again??? or do the schools that I already applied to have my scores??

I want to apply to around 10 schools and thats $250 right there. its expensive.

Can't we just input the info on AADSAS and that would be enough???

Thanks

One week notice is sort of late in the game to ask a prof for a LOE, I'd ask now even if you are still taking the class. Let him or her know that you would like a letter of reccomendation from that person by the end of the term, otherwise if you ask at the actual end of the term and not early on the prof might say no to you off the bat.

I believe VicViper is mistaking. You can go ahead and submit your application, before any kind of verification regarding your transcripts. so, go ahead and:
-Create your application on June 1st, when the 2010 cycle begins.
-Try filling it out ASAP.
-Print out the transcript matching forms the same day.
-Pay your application fee (This is crucial!! YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUBMIT ANYTHING UNLESS YOU PAY THESE PEOPLE).
-Submit your application.

The next day, go ahead and take your transcript matching forms to your school, and have them send out your transcripts to AADSAS. After you've done that, simply check your AADSAS account to ensure that the transcripts have arrived!

Good Luck!
