As I wait painfully helpless for my transcripts to be verified by the AADSAS folks, I’m wondering if anyone can share their experience regarding the application processing time.

My transcripts were received in September, so I’m hoping they’ll get my hardcopy application out before November (everything has been submitted from my end). What do you think – am I being overly optimistic?

Also, does anyone know if schools review e-submitted applications or do they wait for the printouts? All of my school statuses are blank…

Thanks

You should do a search on this topic. I think it was just covered recently.

To answer you question, AADSAS states that it should take them around 4-8 weeks to process your transcript and get your AADSAS GPA out. I think on average this takes about 4-5 weeks for most people. Then AADSAS needs to mail out your app. They usually dont do this right away once they get your AADSAS GPA, so this will take about another 1 to 2 weeks. Next, it will take the schools about another week or so to get those applications so all in all it will take a little less than 2 months before schools get your app. Therefore, November like you've said is a pretty good estimate.

On the other hand, I think only a few schools look at the eletronic versions of your application. They will usually wait for the hard copy before they contact you.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

My experience went like this:

1st transcripts recieved 9/12 and then I had to send another transcript for a dual enrollment class I took in highschool, they recieved that one 10/1

I want to say it took roughly 1.5 weeks to verify my transcripts to get the AADSAS GPA after the second transcript was submitted.

Just today AADSAS sent out my information. I also found out today it took a friend a total of 3 weeks! and she heard from a school the NEXT day. So this whole process seems variable. Funny thing is she submitted her information maybe 2 weeks before I sent mine in.

BTW, does anyone think having my info sent out today (10/22) is LATE and a DISADVANTAGE compared to others?

Thanks

By now a lot of first round interviews have already been given out...so in short, you are in a disadvantaged position compared to others.

However, there are many schools that either started late (Tufts, USC) and/or interview until pretty deep in the cycle (NYU) so as long as you have good stats, theres still chance for ya.

Thanks for the replies - I appreciate it!
