When I was in college, I took summer jobs in different professors labs. I usually did very repetitive testing and was only published once by the University. The research I did was part of a program and the publication was a bound copy of all the papers that everyone in th eprogram had written. Should I include this under the research section or the work section (or both) on the AADSAS. I know what the purpose of the research in the labs was, but I don't think I had a *very* significant role in it.

List it under research. You could also list it under work, but typically that is reserved for paid positions.

And of course, if you did research AND were paid, then you could list it under both.

There aren't any hard rules written for this stuff, and adcoms won't question it in either place that you put it. To be quite honest, it may be that adcoms don't even notice the research you've done, since it seems that is becoming the norm for applicants.

For example, when I helped with interviews last year at my school, an applicant who had listed research under their AADSAS didn't really earn any special notice with me unless they had done it for more than 2 years. That's just my opinion though.
