AADSAS question

We have a health evaluation committee at our school, and I'm thinking to use its service. But according to some of my friends, the earliest I could request to the committee to send out the composite LOR is the first week of August. So my understanding is even if I submit my application in mid May, the AADSAS might not send it out to schools till they receive the LOR in august. (am I misunderstanding abt the process?) 😱 Would that be too late? 🙁 Any suggestion? I thought about not to use the committee service, but then I’m worried schools might question me for not using it. Any input will be helpful? Thanks!

you can submit aadsas whenever. i submitted in july and it took about 8 weeks (even though it says 4-6). i had my committee meeting interview during the first week of fall semester and they were done everything before aadsas sent out my app. my committee wouldnt send the letters until aadsas sent my app, so the committee actually beat aadsas. so im thinking, if you submit in late june, and have your committee interview the first week of august, youll be fine. thats still a month before mine was and i had all my interviews by dec. 1st. i would definitely use the committee though. they can help you out and i think the dental schools will question why you didn't if you dont use them.

You only need your TRANSCRIPTS for AADSAS to begin to process you application.

First - they verify your GPA (2-4 weeks)
Second - they send you file to dent schools (4-6 weeks)

If you take the DAT or send your LOR at a later date, AADSAS will forward them to the dental schools.

It's the DENTAL SCHOOLS that WILL NOT look at your file until it has the AADSAS application, LOR, DAT, and some want your transcripts to be sent to them as well.
