Can someone help define the AADSAS Statuses for me?

Received/Under Review

Received/Application Complete

I assume that #1 means the application is complete, and they are reviewing. I assume that #2 means the application is complete, but is not being reviewed yet?

I guess the reason I ask is because VCU changed my status from Received/Under Review --> Received/Application Complete, and to me this doesn't make sense (seems backwards?). If anyone could shed some light, that'd be great! Thanks!

I think it means the same thing and it doesn't matter

"Under review" is to make sure you have submitted everything(fees,dat scores, gpa, etc).
"Application Complete" is to indicate that you have submitted everything and it is ready for the next process, which is evaluation.

IThis is just conjecture on my part, but I think the first one means that your application has been received and that they're screening it to ensure that all necessary pieces of your file are present (e.g. DAT, LOR, etc.). The second one I think means that there are no missing items (e.g LORs, fees, etc), so now your application will undergo review.

Just my guess, but I could be wrong.

It looks like Columbia's main form of communication is by email, I wouldn't worry about what the AADSAS portal says. There was a thread on here about the "test1" status and it looks like everyone has it so it's nothing special.

It's still relatively early for most schools so I wouldn't unless you notice a lot of other applicants getting interviews from that school already. However, if it'll give you the peace of mind, it wouldn't hurt to call them and ask. The admissions office people are usually pretty nice about checking for you.

Okay thanks! the last thing I want from a school is to be blacklisted for being annoying by calling them! I haven't called any schools in particular yet about my status...
