aadsas transcript request form

Can I clear this up with someone on how this works - so I download every transcript request form and have them sent to each respective college, where the registrar's offices will send out my transcripts to ADEA DHCAS (where on the form says they should be sent). And finally from the ADEA DHCAS mass sent to the colleges I've applied to.


I was just sort of confused why the form doesn't have my schools directly send my transcripts to the schools I applied to.

So it's like this:
1) You download the transcript request forms for every school you attended/listed on your app
2) You attach this form with your transcript request from your school (either when you do it online via StudentClearingHouse/Parchment or when you go in person)-- you hand it to your school however which way.
3) Your school will send both your transcript AND the form to the ADEA Transcript Processing Center.
4) ADEA will hold these transcripts for eternity and will use them when you submit your 1st dental school application to verify the grades and courses you have entered on AADSAS.
---> I believe the dental schools you apply to never see an official copy of your transcript unless they request it from the ADEA OR it may just come attached to the application that they receive from AADSAS.

* as for your last question, it would be extremely expensive for you if your schools (that you attended) sent your transcripts out to each dental school you applied to. That's why ADEA acts as a middle man that holds the your official transcript and sends a copy to the schools you applied to (in essence, it saves you a bit of money).
