I know this topic has been beaten to death, but it seems what most people said about this (dreaded) test was pretty right. In my last 4 tests, I have consistently scored in the 34 - 36 range, but in this test I got 32, about 3 points lower than my recent average.

Two biggest differences that I felt between AAMC 11 and other AAMC tests I took:

1. PS section felt longer than other sections. I literally guessed the last 3 isolated questions due to lack of time.

2. BS passages were pretty cruel, especially the Ebola one. It wasn't that the concepts were far, concepts were pretty easy, but the way the materials were presented (in a convoluted way) made me pick the wrong answers (required lots of thinking). When I was revising the test, however, I actually got all answers to these "hard" passages right. The difference, I felt, was lack of time. So my question is, which prep book do you think has passages similar to these Ebola passages (convoluted ideas with figures and tables)? I have TPR book and it got some of these kind, but its still different to most of AAMC 11 passages. Is TBR the solution?

Thanks.

I've been using TBR for review and even though I haven't done any AAMC's yet, I'm pretty confident that they will be nothing compared to TBR Bio passages.

Kaplan section tests and Kaplan 45 book had some pretty hard passages that were good practice. I think the key is working quickly through the other passages and discretes and saving all your extra time on that really hard passage. I had 16 minutes left on the hard passage on my mcat and I started answering questions but after going through it further I really understood what the passage was about and changed several answers. Hopefully it worked out... still waiting... wanna die...

As time goes on I keep thinking I got more and more wrong.... not good

Man I can imagine that...I get that feeling even during the practice tests when I am in my 10 min breaks...I can imagine how worse it is when this thought lingers for a whole friggin month 😱
