In this question it states that far sighted person can see himself clearly in a plane mirror no closer than 300 cm.

It wants to know what is the min. distance that person can see himself clearly in the mirror?

I put 300 cm, which was wrong. It is 150 cm ... I am not getting it ... The explanation to me is not clear ... What is the equation for this ... anyone?

Thanks!

it says he can see the himself no closer than 300cm. what he SEES is the IMAGE of himself, which is created on the other side of that mirror. therefore, in order to see himself clearly, he needs to stand half that distance away from the mirror.

hopefully this graphic can help you understand better.

Wow ... I understand ... talk about smoke and mirrors!

Thanks for that image. It made it clearer!
