So, I know it is early for the next round of applications. But, i am preparing myself to apply for a second time and was wondering about some classes I want to take next semester during my time off. I have graduated and as have mentioned, have already applied to med schools this year, but have heard nothing positive, so I am preparing myself for round two. I was wondering what you think i should do. I took a calculus and a chemistry class in high school at a local junior college just so i could get a basic idea and ended up in C's in both of them b/c i did't really think it mattered. I filled out my AAMC app and i put them on there b/c i thought i had to and it brought my science gpa down a lot. i never did anywhere near those grades in college. So, now, i am wondering if i ever had to send those grades in in the first place, and also, I want to review genetics b/c i forgot it all and i was too bored last semester since i am out of school, and i want to know if i have to report that i took it, and ifyou think i should take it pass/ no pass. Please give me some suggestions b/c i don't know who to ask.

I don't know what your application looks like currently, but I would suggest doing more than just take more classes. Adcoms want to see that your app has significantly changed between cycles, and I don't think that more classes will really look all that impressive. I would suggest getting out and getting involved in some EC that would make you stnd out - something that shows a dedication to medicine and shows that you are a well-rounded person, not someone just concerned with classes. Some sort of volunteer position or charitable work - something like that. I know there has been a lot of talk about what others do on this forum, so you could probably get good ideas from browsing around various threads.

thanks for the suggestion. I actually will be starting work as an emt in the first week of january right after the holiday break. But, i still don't know what to do about the C's when i was in HIGH SCHOOL!
