I took the MCAT yesterday and was wondering if the curves are are usually similar to the the curve for AAMC 11, since that's apparently the most representative?
There is no way of really knowing. I suppose you could speculate that it might be like AAMC 11. But they don't tell you what the curve is on any exam (except the released AAMC exams), when you get your score, you only get a number (not a raw score) and a percentile range based on the previous years statistics.
Yea I guess that makes sense. I just thought if some of the most recent test scales were similar to 11, that we could expect a similar curve on yesterday's test. It would just make me feel better knowing what to expect lol.
All of us waiting for our scores would like to feel better. Alas: AAMC dosn't have vested interest in that heheYea I guess that makes sense. It really depends. My PS section was easy and so even though I felt like I did amazing I only got a 10 because they probably didn't curve too much. And then the BS section was more difficult and I got a 10 and was surprised because I thought i'd end up with a 9, so it was probably curved more.
The best guestimate you can do it to read how other people felt about it from the same day and be like well if everyone thought it was really easy, probably not much of a curve.
