Wonder what the detection rate difference is between these nurse techs and a real gastroenterologist MD...

Won't matter when the stool tests become mainstream. Then they'll regret creating all that extra competition for no reason.

Maybe cardiac angiography is too easy, let's not forget neuro-angio.

Claire Schwegel is a Nurse Practitioner at The Mount Sinai Hospital who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases. She received her Masters degree from Columbia University in 2015. ... She is credentialed and holds privileges to perform diagnostic catheter based angiography. ... She is a current doctoral candidate at Columbia University.

CLAIRE SCHWEGEL | Mount Sinai - New York

Actually that page is out of date: she is already a doctor (DNP). Her board certification is actually Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), so she is helping alleviate America's primary care care shortage in the rural Manhattan unlike these other doctor angiographers (talking to you neurosurgeons and radiologists) who abandoned primary care by not doing IM or FM.

When I think of places with doctor shortages, mt sinai is one of the first places that come to mind.

"Specializing in colonoscopies has made nurse practitioner Monica VanDongen especially skilled."

Inside Tract - Who's traversing the tract?

You guys start a thread about midlevels taking over GI every year. This is one nurse who trained with Kalloo in 2011 and she alone has generated multiple threads. It’s almost like you need this to feel better.

If you do GI at Hopkins, you'll be sharing scopes with NP "fellows"

I found the thread where he complained that we were anonymous

Also FIT testing isn’t a threat, it’s already here and equivalent for saving lives but with more surgery/chemo. The problem with any stool test is setting the sensitivity. We find adenomas in >40% of colons. My personal rate is over 50% and so is that of most of my group. Stool tests have to “ignore” most of those and only identify the high risk ones (same for CTC), or most stool tests will lead to colo anyway.

I’m calling BS.....they are implying that they are doing 9000 hours of anesthesia and they aren’t. They are trying to include all that RN time like it means anything to anesthesia...

This is their schedule, there is not 9000 hours clinical in it
Nurse Anesthesia - Plan of Study
Jesus. Only 69 (heh) credit hours? E'rybody wanna be a doctor, but don't nobody wanna go to medical school.

What anesthesiologists don’t want lawmakers to know:

Wow that is straight up lying and they know it.

This country elected a president based on similar outrageous lies. Maybe we should just assign the CRNAs to treat republicans (i.e. Certified Republican Nurse Anesthetists). 😛
I chuckled. But let's not forget it was a CRNA who brought Democrat superstar Bill Clinton into the world. Thanks, CRNAs.

And you'd rather have Hillary? Or Bernie?
