Has anyone completed the AATBS 6-session exam strategy workshop? They have one coming up and I am wondering if it is worth it? I definitely could benefit from test-taking strategies, but don't want it to end up being a waste of time/money. Or if another test prep company offers something similar that you recommend instead, I'd appreciate that insight as well!

Here is a link to the program I am referring to: https://aatbs.com/eppp-6-session-exam-strategies-online-workshop

I did not use it or anything like it. If you need test taking strategies, i feel like i got enough from reading sections in the study guides about it (AATBS has numerous helpful tips) and taking practice tests.

Overall, it wasn’t worth it for me to use money on it. But I think you need to consider yourself and what you need. I have always been a good test taker and I never got anxiety like many regarding testing. However, if your anxiety will be a limiting factor, a course might be helpful to reduce it.

I always recommend that people take a practice test or two then decide what to do. If you feel completely lost and overwhelmed, then maybe consider some additional help.

Edit: I see this is a 12 hour course at $595. I can’t imagine they will go over anything content-wise in enough depth to differ from reading study guides and your course material. So personally I wouldn’t, but again if it will alleviate anxiety then it may be helpful.

I shared the online AATBS online study package with somebody last year, which I found relatively helpful. It included access to audio recordings from an in person review class which mostly focused on covering what AATBS thought was important concepts/content and some in-person review of practice problems.

Compared to the GREs, I thought the EPPP was so much more concrete knowledge-based so I'm glad I didn't opt for any specific strategy review. You might be able to eliminate 2 of 4 options and still have a coin flip because the remaining 2 choices may be things that you've literally never heard of.

What I found most helpful about the AATBS package was skimming their review books for key terms/concepts and then doing their online tests (and reading answer summaries).

Hello.
I failed with 393. I am a Masters level Psychologist, studied PrepJet, Academic Review books, and Retired Questions (approximately 2000 Qs)
I am not good at Stats... Also on the actual exam, I saw many questions related to studies/research on suicide, gender, genetics, Race, that I could not find on any of the study materials I used.
Please advise. My license is expiring soon. Unfortunately, Licensing boards are not giving Grace period due to COVID. Thank you for your time.

Unfortunately, I feel like this would be a major disadvantage to Master's level test takers since completing a dissertation and other research activities will provide familiarity with a lot of stats and research design concepts.

How new are your Academic Review books? Did you study them thoroughly? They should provide general knowledge and key concepts for the 8 EPPP domains such as biological bases of behavior (genetics) and social and cultural basis of behavior (gender, race) since each is supposed to be ~10% of the exam.
