Hey SDN,
long-time lurker, occasional poster just got started on my 3rd vet school application cycle.

Anyways,
Is anyone planning on going to the AAZV conference this fall? My poster/presentation was accepted and I'm excited to go to my first conference with something to do other than wander around 🙂

I've never been to a vet conference, is it worth it to go to the entire thing? I suppose I should be networking like crazy if I do go the whole thing.

Anyways, if anyone else is going, let me know so we can perhaps split hotel rooms.

Thanks,
KiaKia

I'll be there. It will be my second AAZV conference. Congrats on being a presenter, that is awesome! In terms of going to the whole thing, I'm not simply because it is really hard missing that much school. The most important nights are the student reception and the icebreaker in terms of networking. The zoo day with the auction at night is a fun day as well (from what I hear, I missed it last year). The first two weekend days are wetlabs which are probably not as beneficial to take at this point in your career, but you can always volunteer at them which is what I am doing. So, going to the whole thing is great if you can swing it, but it isn't necessary.

As for hotels, we usually have a room or two stuffed with Wisconsin students so I am probably not your best bet for that. There is actually a place on the AAZV site where you can look for a roommate.

I signed up for Mon, Tues, and e-mailed about volunteering on sunday.

Thanks 🙂
