I was gonna join Anime club, chess club, christian club...kind of clubs so i can write it on my application.

I just read one of the application guide and it says don't waste money on honor club or whatever that u only become a member and don't do much. U have to bring a big impact on the club like going on a championship or something otherwise admission comittee members don't care about ur activities.

is it true? joining chess club doesn't mean i will go to state chess competition or something.

what kind of activities do u recommand?

Participate in whatever activities that interest you and be active in them. That way, if an interviewer asks you about a certain club, you can tell them about it. It's a waste of time to join a club just to have it on your application.

also if u can it looks really good if u start ur own club...anything as long as u do it...then u could say "i was the founder of ____ club" ...and the best part is u get to make it anything u want...

I was also thinking of starting my own club but I think i will get too much pressure on activities that my GPA might go down.

I will be active on clubs that I will join but if they ask me what i did in....let's say chess club then there is nothing more to say other than I played chess 🙁
