I'm relatively new in trying to apply to DO schools..so i was wondering if you guys can tell me where I can find a list of DO schools...are there a lot of them and how difficult is it to get in?...thanks guys...i appreciate the help

In addition to reading the page on SDN regarding osteopathic medicine, you can check out

<a href="http://www.aacom.org" target="_blank">AACOM</a>

and

<a href="http://www.aoa-net.org" target="_blank">AOA</a>

for general information on the 19 DO schools. There is also a lot of valuable information you can gain regarding DO schools from reading some of the message threads here on the SDN forums as well.

Hope this helps.

Acceptance to both DO and MD schools is highly competitive. The schools I applied to had an acceptance rate of around 7-8%.

You can find information on acceptance rates in the 2001 US News & World Reports Best Grad schools issue. It can be found online at: <a href="http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/beyond/apps/gradmed.htm" target="_blank">http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/beyond/apps/gradmed.htm</a>
