does anyone know if there is any program out there that combines md and masters of divinity together, or would allow one to study both of these types of education at the same time? something akin to a md/mph or md/phd....

Duke, Loyola, UChigago, Vanderbilt, Yale, VCU, Harvard, BU, etc. Some schools have formal dual degree programs (like Vandy) while others can make arrangements (Harvard).

I think most schools will make the necessary arrangement for someone to finish a MSc/MD durring the 4 years of medical school. You just have to talk to the right person. Dean of Academics... or dean if the school is small enough. Make sure you do your research in to other schools and how they do theirs. With that info you can present it to the dean or any school.

I know for a fact that its VERY easy to do a MD/masters in whatever at Duke because of the flexible 3rd year. I'm also sure that most medical schools will help you plan a 5 year curriculum for a MD/masters.

Stanford is definately leaning towards a 5 year medical program to make this possible with their "scholarly concentrations."

The new program at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine is also specifically designed for people who want an MD/Masters as opposed to an MD/PhD and want exposure to research...

So in short, there are plenty of options available. Good luck!!

thanks for all the replies! it helps out a lot!!
