I am curious about research opportunities??
What are some good resources to find out about these opportunities?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!!

research opportunities in what sense?

I'm unlcear if you are asking how to get involved in research as a pre-med (just go talk to some faculty with whom you would like to work - either they will hire you or direct you to someone who will...there is almost always money at the big research schools, and at the smaller schools they often have contacts elsewhere if they can't hire you themselves). or if you are asking about med school itself.

Hey- I would start with some of your professors, see if they need people in their labs or if they know of other PIs who need people. If you go to a big school, it's a good way to get to know a prof.

Sometimes it's just serendipity. I emailed a bunch of profs at the med school adjacent to my school. A few replied back-many said their labs were full, but this one great PI told me to come in. He said he didn't have any space in his lab, but he could recommend me to his colleagues down the hall.

Lo and behold, I'm now in my second year working for the lady he recommended, and I've had great opportunities to get published!

Do a search online for summer research programs at different universities...I just got back from one at UCLA and it was a FANTASTIC experience. Most programs I looked at involve working a full (paid) week in a lab of your interest then at the end presenting a poster or writing a paper on what you did for those 2 months. It really is a great experience if you're interested in research, not to mention the contacts you make during that time. I still have a lot of links from the different programs I looked at including the one from UCLA, so if you're interested feel free to pm me and I'll send them over.
