secondaries basically consist of more information and a check, however, many just ask you to provide the same background info as in the amcas application. a good number of the schools ask for essays, which ask about your strengths/weaknesses, your motivation for pursuing medicine, to go indepth about any volunteer or research experiences, where do you see yourself 10 years from now (vision statement), what are you doing right now if you're not going to school, to fill in the gaps in your amcas application, etc. many of the questions are pretty straightforward, so don't get scared. trust me, filling out secondaries is not nearly as hard as compiling the personal statement, atleast for me, writing the personal statement was the toughest part of the whole application process. keep in mind though, a lot of schools don't ask you to fill out essays. infact, BU's secondary just consisted of a 100 check, and thats how much my rejection cost, lol. anyway, good luck with them. i won't lie, filling them out was not the greatest thing, so put aside some time. also, you'll find out that you'll be able to recycle many of your responses, cuz many schools ask the same questions. if you have anymore specific questions on certain schools feel free to ask. peace.
