about to call/e-mail programs. what to say?

Hi. I am about to start contacting PD/ PC of programs I am very interested in. I need some help with what to say since I want to sound respectful and not too pushy. I am planning a rotation in one of these hospitals and I don't know if the PD knows about it. Should I talk to the PD or PC?

The fact that you're about to call programs 3 days after MSPEs were released guarantees that you're going to come off as pushy no matter what you say. So perhaps something like, "if you don't give me an interview I'm going to go buy an AR15 and...." will do the trick for you.

About halfway through your away rotation, if you haven't already heard from the PD there, shoot him/her an email saying you're there and would like to meet with them.
