I have a secondary question that asks if there are any academic discrepancies I'd like to explain. Any advice on how to do this without sounding like I'm making excuses? I was thinking of talking about 2 Cs I received in college (although my reasons aren't the best ("classes were hard, I was working a lot...") Also I transferred colleges after my freshman year - should I explain why?

Thanks for your help.

I'd only respond to a question like that if I had a D or F. Plenty of med school applicants have a C or 2 (or even more) on their transcripts and get into school and do fine once they're there.

i agree with dr. mom. one or two C's build character, five or six is something to worry about. 😉

i'm with the rest. and, you don't have anything really that out of the ordinary (no offense) like a health problem/family member injured or something. good luck anyhow.

Katie, I have to agree with the previous posters... one or two C's is not a red flag for most adcoms and unless there was a significant conflicting experience you can talk about than you will probably do yourself more harm than good... hope I've been helpful.. 😀

Explain away ONLY if you feel the situation requires an explanation. I suggest you not be apologetic for your grades. What's done is done; now you move on.
