Happened upon this early today, thought I'd put it out here on sdn as I know how much everyone loves school rankings.

Hold your mouse over the MED tab.

It is interesting to read exactly what metrics go into their ranking and how each is weighted. May have good info if you spend time searching around.
I wonder how this compares to the US News ranking system that gets so much (unwarranted) attention.

The rankings are conducted by a team of researchers at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

How are points for "Alumni" and "Award" given out? I see a considerable number of very good schools with 0's in these categories.

Hit the Methodology Tab, it's all there. They don't give a ton of weight to either of those categories.

Some of the categories are pretty narrow, definitely not a flawless system.
