Hello everyone, I am or have been prepping for the EPPP and needless to say I am practically having a panic attack. I started using the Academic Review materials and it did not seem to be sinking in. I then added the TSM to it and I have made great strides in retention and on my practice exams. I score in the low 70's. I have read that those exams are harder than the EPPP.

I just spoke with a colleague who suggested AATBS. The person also stated that TSM is "crap." Their words, not mine.😕

I am wondering what people here have to offer in experience with AR and TSM? Are they good enough to ensure that I pass? I am broke and in post doc with a child. I do not want to fail nor do I want to spend more money on study materials but I will do what I have to in order to pass.

Comments, thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. My plan is to test the 2nd week in January.

I don't yet have any personal experience with EPPP prep materials, although I'm targeting roughly the same window of time (late Jan/early Feb) to sit for the exam.

However, there are a few threads available where individuals have discussed their thoughts on the various materials available. I don't have links handy at the moment, but if you do a search of the forum, I'm sure the posts will pop up.

Best of luck.

I'm not preparing for the EPPP yet, but there was a pretty exhaustive thread about the materials, which I've read relatively recently. From what I remember, people's posts left me with the impression that many favored PsychPrep. Some used other materials, some didn't use formal materials and studied from their coursework materials. A few used flashcard apps. I know that EPPP released their own flashcard app - it has some practice tests as well. That was inexpensive, like $29 if I remember right.

I think it depends on what your learning and studying style is and what works best for you. There's a lot out there. It sounds like you've found something that is working for you so far...

I have read multiple threads. Some have like AR, some psych prep, most did not enjoy AATBS.....

It is so confusing. At this stage I just want to pass and I am working hard to do so. There are hardly any independent reviews of these programs.....

I really liked the program I used, PsychPrep. I just found out today that I passed!! I started off with Academic Review, which I found to be incredibly dense and lacking structure (for me personally). TSM and PsychPrep offer "trials" of their programs (1 section of material) so that you can see what their programs are like. I liked that PsychPrep had written materials to go along with the audio lectures, so I went with them. I think a lot of it depends on what kind of learner you are. However, with PsychPrep and the Taylor Method they will take months to work through all of the material. Sounds like you're looking for more short-term study materials.

I'm actually selling my materials, and have posted an ad on the Classifieds Forum on this site. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=968752

I appreciate your response, I have already been studying for 4 months. I do not want to have to start over. I just read some fo these threads and then have tried different materials and there is a lack of consistency in some of the practice exams, etc. Very frustrating. BTW: I am using TSM and AR.
