Hey guys n gals,

I was searching through past links and found that academic rigor hasnt been really talked about or maybe i wasnt looking hard enough. I was wondering how big of a factor is academic rigor is when you apply to pharm school? I'm averaging 19 credit hrs a semester and experienced a 22 credit hr semester and 21 credit hr semester. I guess ... i'm also asking with a 3.1 science gpa 3.6 nonscience and a 3.38 gpa how competitive am i?
I also have these things to beef up my application:
  • I volunteered for close to a year at my local hospital on the BMT clinic and Unit Patient Liaison for about 6 hrs a week.
  • I was pre-pharm club officer for 2 semesters and a member for 4 semesters.
  • I did research with my biology prof on antibiotic efficacy for a semester.
  • I also got 84% pcat score but plan to retake it this upcoming Jan.
I'm getting kinda worried after my 3.8 gpa average began to slide after 2 semesters of organic chemistry and human anatomy/physiology..... 😡

thanks for helping me out guys! love the forum and love the people! 😍👍

you look pretty strong to me. good PCAT, TONS of extra curricular, pretty good overall gpa.
if you can get your science up to a 3.3 i think you'd be extremely competative...but that's just my opinion

Where do you go to school? Your GPA is decent assuming you went to a good school. Your extracurriculars are impressive. You have a good shot I think.
