Great information everyone, thanks for the contributions.
I have a few questions about clinical vs. academic ranking. Should students focus their rotations on the type of practice they are interested in to get good LOR in those fileds? I'm mostly interested in clinical RadOnc so should I focus exclusively on the programs strongest in clinical RadOnc?
And for those who've applied to both types of schools, do you characterize your career goals differently depending on the audience? I certainly don't want to exclude all the academic institutions just because I have an MBA vs. a PhD, but I don't want to waste time & money either.
Also, anyone care to rank to list separately for clinical and academic residencies? That would sure help in planning 3rd & 4th year rotations.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
