Academic Update Mandatory?

Is the Academic Update mandatory or can we just wait to see which schools we get into and send them our transcript at the end of the year?

If you get in December first then you should just wait and send to the school when they request It. If you didn't get into any schools and feel like the update will give you an advantage then do it
