Because the latest date to do the academic update is around November, the only grades that we can update are the summer courses if the my school goes by the semester calendar, correct?

Is the academic update mandatory, or can you choose not to do so if you aren't satisfied with your new grades?

Uh, you're going to be sending transcripts to schools with the coursework so why would you hide it? Why risk getting offers rescinded?

If you get accepted, you're going to have to send in your transcripts anyways for the academic audit.
That said, from personal experience it seems like many schools don't really consider the academic update as part of your package. Some schools will update your app package with your new grades, but it seems like (to me) most don't.

Most of them private schools will consider your academic update. I received 4 interviews right after I updated my grades
