Accelerated Chemistry courses

I was placed into an honors accelerated chemistry curriculum. The first course was a combination of Gen Chem I and 1/2 of Organic I(including labs). The second course was the other 1/2 of Organic I and Organic II. The two courses were a total of 12 credits...

I don't know how this will work out for fulfilling pre-reqs...

regardless of content, schools ask for years - i.e. '1 year of inorganic chem with lab,' '1year of organic with lab.' this honors program may have taken you out of the running for applying to those schools that say explicitly '1 year of organic with lab.' most schools, however, will be fine if you take a year of pchem with lab later in college.

I dont get why you would even do the 'honors' thing, seems like there is little benefit to it and it only further complicates an already arduous process..

Honors science courses are basically an unnecessary risk.

big difference between honors and accelerated, i think the accelerated is a risk, a standard honors course is just a little bit more rigorous

I can't do anything about it now. I finished these courses 2 years ago. I'm a chemistry major, though; I have taken many chemistry courses(Inorganic, analytical, pchem, etc.). Do some schools allow you to substitute advanced courses for the intro chem courses?

yeah.

if they want 4 chem courses, give it to them. as long as you get g chem / o chem / b chem, you're good.
