I’ve been accepted to a pretty good DO program. I’m very grateful, but also am wanting to get into a really competitive residency.
I had a few interviews for MD with T10 schools, but they turned into rejections or waitlists. (I feel I may have not sounded very research-oriented at some research-centered schools. Or maybe I just don’t have a personality
)
My stats are quite high(LM 83). I’ve got a lot of non clinical volunteer hours and paid clinical hours. However, I only have about 50 research hours, few shadowing hours, and few leadership hours.
I just graduated and have moved relatively far from my college (due to housing and work opportunities). Therefore, I’m not sure what research or leadership opportunities I would have.
Considering all of this, should I matriculate at the DO school and just work hard there or work on what EC’s I can, work on my essays/interviewing, and reapply?
Curious for outside opinions. Thanks in advance!
