Hey guys
I hope this hasn't been started in another thread, i couldn't find anything when I did a search so here goes:

I am a Canadian student applying to schools in the states as well as Waterloo here in Canada. The application deadlines for the US are much different from canada (for example, US schools have already opened their applications and are even offering interviews already whereas university of waterloo won't interview until November, and we won't get acceptances until mid March 2011).

My question is regarding when acceptance deadlines are for students accepted into schools in the US? My main issue right now is knowing whether or not to start applying to US schools right now, possibly getting interviews and possibly getting acceptances soon and not knowing if I have gotten into waterloo yet. So, is there a deadline by which we have to accept offers of admission if we get into the US? Although I would love to go to school in the US it is much more costly than Waterloo so if i can get into waterloo it would be much preferred to me. Therefore, I would not want to miss the opportunity to go to waterloo because I have already accepted to somewhere else.. you know what i mean?

If anyone can offer any insight on this that would be much appreciated!!

thanks 😀

Even if you accept somewhere else, you can still accept Waterloo after. You will prob just lose the around $1000 (?) dollar deposit I believe.

That's not a lot of money considering how much you will save from going to Waterloo and also having the peace of mind that you are accepted into another school.

every school had a different deadline. I think the very first one to close is Berkeley on December 1st, so a little less than 3 months left to apply.

if you start your optomcas application and add in the schools, it'll tell you the deadline right in there.

Thank you soo much! I had no idea I could just accept somewhere else, even if it meant losing 1000 dollars....which, you're right, is not a lot considering the money i'd be saving.
