It's obvious some people love this forum (people with like 1000 plus posts...honestly, what is that all about). But for the rest of us, does anyone believe they will never look at this forum again once its done serving its MAIN purpose, i.e. helping us with the med school process. Once I get my first acceptance, assuming I'm fortunate enough, I plan on never looking at this site again!! About 10% of my time actually serves the aforementioned purpose but i swear the other 90% is more or less comprised of petty comparisons, needless anxiety and very disagreeable petulance with other people's comments.

So in other words, please give me good news soon so i never have to click on www.studentdoctor.net ever again!!!!!

I'm with the OP.. I'm praying for an acceptance so I could finally kick this habit...No more SDN!!! at least the pre-med forums 🙄

i think this forum is extremely helpful and useful. Plus, people are very nice and supportive. I wish my undergraduate classmates were this nice. I have an acceptance, still use this forum and will do so in the future.

wait until you take the USMLE or better yet, begin applying for residency programs (have you seen all the forums for those?)

im sure you'll be back...

yea, you're right on that but come on, you can't tell me a long break isnt called for!

well..once we start med school...we will no longer be Pre-allo...rather...we will be ALLO! 🙂 so we can go and hijack the Allo thread.....and make room for the next wave of newbies 🙂

don't you think that is little selfish.
Why don't you share your advice about the application experience with future generations of SDners

I think indirectly I am! Don't make your life SDN!

Speaking as someone who has been here for a long time, I can tell you that I will continue to post here and will do what I can to help my fellow SDNers as I was helped throughout the years. I haven't been here as much since I started med school, but do come to the site at least once a week. Plus I have made a point to go and welcome those posters from SDN that are interviewing at my school on the day they show up for their interviews.

I guess some people don't get it and that is sad. There are some really cool people here on SDN. And you may very well end up in class with a bunch of them.

And that's very admirable of you. I simply don't have that stamina or outlook on this forum. And if that's sad to you, so be it.

AmyB is the greatest!!! Props to one of the most supportive and most informative posters on this site! It was an honor to meet you. If it weren't for her and the others who post their experiences we wouldn't have all of this useful knowledge presented before us. thanks 👍

I noticed Oldman and others are still around giving advice from time to time, and I think it's cool how accepted students offer to host SDNers who interview at their schools. It's definitely understandable how most people just don't have the time that they used to. On the other hand, some also feel as if SDN's served it's purpose as soon as they get in.

Anyway, my advice probably isn't all that great anyway 😛 but I do appreciate the guidance and support SDN provides.

Haha, that's what I get for replying before reading the entire op (damn verbal reasoning 🙄 ). Anyway, nice post Amy B.

You must have some sort of stamina to keep replying.....

that's pretty witty, but like i hinted at in my OP...much DISAGREEABLE stamina goes into this replying and now i find myself falling into my own trap and doing exactly what I said displeases me about this whole forum.

...so please, Just one acceptance, that's all i need.

maybe you should just leave now....you are quite selfish...wat are you here for anyway??? To get help from others and not give any??? Interesting....i hope you dont come across like a selfish person during ur interviews.......or who knows ull be stuck here for ever.

I don't think it would be a good idea for me to be browsing during medical school. But right now I think it's important for me to give advice and make fun of people.
